But those who hope in the Lord

    will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

they will run and not grow weary,

they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 40:31

Introduction:

  • The promise of God came at a time where the Israelites were so worn out from living in exile that they have forgotten about God’s promise to them.

  • Sometimes we are like that too. We are so tired that we have forgotten God’s promise in your life.

  • God will give you strength to pursue His purpose even in difficult times if you we choose to walk and trust in Him

1.   Remember that God is Sovereign

  • God will give you new strength when we remember that He is sovereign

  • God’s promise to the Israelites was not something new but it is something the Israelites have forgotten over the course of their captivity.

  • We need to remember who our God is, what His promises are for us.

  • Surround ourselves with community that can remind us of God’s promises and encourage us forward.

2.   Surrender Your Control to God

  • There is a condition to receive God’s power in our life which is to first acknowledge that we are weak.

  • There are certain part of our lives that we need to humble ourselves and give God control.

  • Strength can be renewed when we surrender control to God

3.   Wait Expectantly on God

  • An active waiting where our hearts are turned to God. A sense of longing and desire for God to move.

  • The silence of God is not the absence of His presence.

  • Waiting on God is an invitation to enter into His presence and increase our expectation for more of Him.

  • As we grow more intimately with Him, He comes and renews our strength.

  • God wants to take all your weaknesses and exchange it with His strength. But we need to wait on Him.

Conclusion:

  • God will continue to renew our strength so long as we continue to trust in Him.

  • Life is challenging but God gives us strength so that we can get back up and run again towards His destiny for us. To continue to live a life being a blessing that God has called us to be and to not grow weary as we fix our eyes on Jesus.
