Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” -  Genesis 11:1-8 (NIV)

Genesis 11 is a story of man coming to a place of trying to become God themselves. The creation that tries to become the Creator. They had just come out of a flood. The flood here brings death, cleansing, reset.

God had a plan for man, however, man lost focus. They wanted to build things for himself. They wanted to build a tower for himself to his own.

Do not build our own towers and city.

  • We have come from a place of being away from God. Being away doesn’t mean distant. It is a timeline for us. For FGA last year it was the renewal of the Antioch vision.

  • How many of us has captured the heart of the Antioch vision that God gave to FGA last year?It doesn’t matter as God has once again spoken.

  • Last week, the whole church had an encounter with God again. This time it was a different message. This time to move and go further.God has already given a direction. A goal. A purpose.

  • Whether we came for the conference or not it is for all of us. When God speaks to one in the family everyone is involved. No one is left behind. We have a choice to be part. Let us be part of it. Let us be the one scoring the goal. Winning the game

God wants all of us to win.

  • The process of winning has many factors. The one passing, the one instructing, the one on the stands cheering? Or the one watching through the television. God wants all of us to win

  • We start by making bricks and tar. Identify the bricks and tar in your life. Keep ourself accountable. The openness allows space for God to intervene.

  • Better to be an open space to allow check and balance to happen than remain closed and not know the true condition.

  • But this will definitely be a process. A journey. It is not something that can be achieved in a day. It depends on where you are.

Keep reaching to God instead of ourselves.

  • When we lose track of what we are supposed to be doing we end up doing things that are unnecessary.

  • When we are connected to God we know what we need to do as we hear directly from the Great Creator Himself. The great planner.

  • It is not that we leave everything to only do church work. But it is our daily life that should reflect God.

To reach something is an effort that requires action.

  • When we reach out to ourselves we do things for ourselves. But when we reach out to God it is different. We are looking outward. Reach out to do things to impact the lives of others.

  • What we do in the supernatural can surpass the natural but what we do in the natural cannot surpass the supernatural.

  • David and Saul weren’t really good kings. In fact they both made many mistakes but what set David apart was that his heart was kept close to God it made a difference.

  • That can only happen when we reach out to God.

Therefore, how do we reach out to God? We can start by first removing the towers in our lives that his hindering us from God. This way, we can reconnect back to God, and it is important to keep that connection ongoing by spending time in His presence and His Word.
